Paris 6-8-09
This was a two day weekend. We took the TGV (French high speed rail) to Paris from Metz. It took a little longer than an hour. We were able to buy student metro tickets that were unlimited for the day (this made traveling in Paris cheap). We went to our hotel and it started to rain on us. After checking into the hotel we went out and got some lunch on the way to the metro. We went to Versailles and spent half of the day. We first bought tickets to tour the palace and then the fountain show was about to begin so we went to see the fountains. The show involved them turning on the fountains and then you walked around to see the fountains running while they played music. It made the afternoon very relaxing. Geoff and I walked through the palace. Afterwards Geoff, Christina and I walked to one of the mini palaces near by, wherein we got locked in. Geoff and Christinia climbed over the fence and when it came to my turn I was able to go through the front gate. That evening we went to see the Eifel tower at night. Sunday I spent the day walking around Paris. I started the day out at the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa and then left the Louvre. We were in Paris when all of the Museums were free. We came back to Metz Monday morning on an early TGV.
