First Weekend
The first weekend a few of us stayed in Metz France. We walked around the town and looked at the different architecture and parks, including the cathedral. There is a new opening of a modern art museum wherein Metz is having different things going on. For instances, there was sculpture exhibit where the artists were carving different things.
Sunday we took the train up to Trier Germany which was 1.5 hours long. There were many roman ruins remaining in the town including some baths and an amphitheatre. We did not go into the baths, but we could see them from the outside just as well. However, we did go into the amphitheatre which as interesting. We were able to go under the main stage of the amphitheatre which was a treat. In addition, the theatre had great acoustics. Next we walked down to a vineyard and winery only to find it closed. Thus, since we were hungry we walked back to town for lunch. After lunch we walked around some more wherein we visited Karl Marx's birth place. Oh and at the end of the day we tried some different local wine.
